Good morning from Gobbler Knob! Now that the edges of the patchbox have been filed to match the curve of the buttplate and the cheekpiece inlay has been mortised in, it’s time to give this rifle some more character with some simple carving designs.

I can barely draw a straight line with a ruler so design layout takes me quite a bit of time until my eye convinces me the geometry of the lines flow. Once that happens, I’ll get the veining gouges and round files out and go to work.
